Winning the toss the Netherlands decided to bowl first at Rajiv gandhi international stadium Hyderabad. It was a dream start for the Dutch when F. Zaman (12), Babar Azam (5) and Imam ul huq (15), were dismissed cheaply by Van Beek, Ackermann and Van Meekeren respectively. Pakistan was 38/3 in 10 overs then.
Then a partnership between Rizwan (68) and Shakeel (68) rescued them from blushes. This partnership was broken by Aryan dutt at 158. M Nawaz scored 39 and Shadab khan 32 to help Pakistan reach a competitive total of 286/all out in 49 overs. For Dutch Bas de Leede took 4 wickets for 62 runs. Ackerman took 2 wickets and Meekren, Van Beek and Dutt shared a wicket each.
In reply the Dutch lost M O’Dowd (5) early to Hassan Ali. Ackerman (17) and Vikramjith Singh (51) helped the Dutch cross 50 runs in total before Ackerman was bowled by Iftikhar Ahmed. 4 wicket taker Bas de Leede scored 67 to take the Dutch to 120.
But then Pakistan hit back and the Dutch lost rhythm. None of the other batsmen could contribute more to the total and Netherlands were all out for 205 in 41 overs. Rauf took 3 and Hassan Ali took 2 wickets, while Afridi, Nawas, Ahmed and Shadab Khan took 1 each to wrap the things up at 205 runs. The logest six of the match was from Logan van beek (83m). There was some spark between rauf and Meekran at the end and the stadium enjoyed it. The Match of Netherlands vs Pakistan saw around 10,000 spectators in the stadium.
