The feast of cricket – IPL 2026 is about to end as we are in the last stage of the tournament. The first qualifier match was between Gujarat Titans versus Royal Challengers Bengaluru. It was one sided game as RCB trashed the boys of Gujarat Titans and registered a historic victory to enter into the final of the tournament. Royal Challengers Bengaluru outclassed Gujarat Titans by a huge margin as they won the game by 92 runs in Qualifier 1 of the tournament. The victory made RCB to enter the IPL 2026 final.
After winning the toss, Gujarat Titans asked RCB to bat first and it was the biggest mistake by the captain of Gujarat Titans. The batting department of RCB destroyed the opponent by setting the highest-ever score in IPL playoffs. RCB posted a massive total of 254 with the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. RCB captain Rajat Patidar led the charge with a superb performance by smashing 93* off 33 balls, while Virat Kohli contributed 43 and Krunal Pandya has also added 43.
It is worth mentioning that Virat Kohli became the first player in IPL history to score 600+ runs in four consecutive seasons. So another record for the chase master.
In the reply, GT suffered a disastrous start as the team lost five wickets in the powerplay. GT opener Sai Sudharsan got out hit-wicket, while skipper Shubman Gill failed to fire. Rahul Tewatia’s slammed 68 but that was not enough as the team bowled out for 162 in 19.3 overs.
Jacob Duffy took three wickets aur RCB while Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rasikh Dar and Krunal Pandya removed two each. GT will now play the winner of the Eliminator in Qualifier 2 for a place in the final.
