Commonwealth Games 2022 Declared Open In Grand Ceremony
The highly anticipated and exciting Commonwealth Games 2022 has been officially declared open in a grand opening ceremony which was held at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham.
Olympic medalist PV Sindhu and the men’s hockey team captain Manpreet Singh lead the Indian contingent. That said, Neeraj Chopra was the designated flag bearer for India in the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth 2022 but he pulled out from the tournament due to an injury which happened during the World Athletics Championships, where he won the silver medal.
Speaking about the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games 2022, drummer-percussionist Abraham Paddy Tetteh started things off in style at the stadium. After that, Indian classical vocalist and composer Ranjana Ghatak took the lead, the opening ceremony also showcased the diversity of the city as well.
Prince Charles was the chief guest of the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games 2022. In terms of the Commonwealth Games 2022, we will witness athletes from over 72 nations and territories. There will be 12 finals in the opening day of the Commonwealth Games 2022.
