Gujarat Titans Lifted The Tata IPL 2022 Cup

Gujarat Titans lifted the Tata IPL 2022 cup. It is very remarkable that Hardik Pandya managed to get his hands on the IPL trophy in his first year as the captain of a team. His exceptional performance further fetched him the Player of the Match award in the game. It is a disappointment for Rajasthan Royals fans as they came so close to the victory. Rajasthan won the toss and opted to bat first. Their strategy did not go as planned.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler opened for Rajasthan. The most individual runs for the team came from Jos Buttler(39). Others who contributed to the total were Jaiswal(22), Riyan Parag(15), Sanju Samson(14), Hetmyer(11), Boult(11), Obed McCoy(8), Ashwin(6), Padikkal(2). Although Prasidh Krishna was unable to score any runs he was still standing when the innings ended. With 2 extras Rajasthan reached 130-9 in 20 overs.

Gujarat bowlers were very prominent in getting wickets and limiting runs. Hardik Pandya got 3 wickets while Sai Kishore took 2 wickets. Rashid Khan, Shami and Yash Dayal gained a wicket each. Another wicket was captured thanks to the combined effort of Rahul Tewatia and Mohammed Shami.

Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill opened for Gujarat. Shubman Gill(45 not out) was the highest individual score for the team. Others who were a part of the chase are Hardik Pandya(34), David Miller(32 not out), Matthew Wade(8), W.Saha(5). With the help of 9 extras, Gujarat Titans reached the score of 133-3 in 18.1 overs.

Rajasthan bowlers did everything they could to limit the runflow but they failed. The fact that it was somewhat a smaller target made it easier for Gujarat batsmen. Yuzvendra Chahal, Prasidh Krishna and Trent Boult gained a wicket each. In the end Gujarat Titans lifted the Tata IPL 2022 cup.
