Lucknow Super Giants Overpowered Mumbai Indians in an IPL match on 24 April 2022. Bad luck seems to have hit the Mumbai camp pretty hard as Mumbai Indians become the first ever team to experience 8 consecutive losses. After winning the toss, Mumbai decided to bowl first. Their strategy did not work out as planned. KL Rahul of Lucknow Super Giants was awarded the Player of the Match for his efforts.

Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul opened for Lucknow. The highest individual score for the team came from KL Rahul(103 not out). His century played a major role in leading the Lucknow team to win this match. Others who helped in building the team total were Manish Pandey(22), Ayush Badoni(14), Quinton de Kock(10), Deepak Hooda(10), Krunal Pandya(1). Although Stoinis and Holder did not take any runs, Holder was still standing as the innings ended. With 8 extras, the team total came to 168-6 in 20 overs. 

Mumbai bowlers tried every trick they had to get a grip on KL Rahul, but they failed in securing his wicket. Riley Meredith and Pollard took 2 wickets each while Daniel Sams and Bumrah got a wicket each. The bowlers could not control the runflow. Rahul was in great form and procured a major share of the Lucknow team total. 

Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma opened for Mumbai Indians. The highest individual score for the team came from Rohit Sharma(39). Others who joined the chase were Tilak Varma(38), Pollard(19), Ishan Kishan(8), Suryakumar Yadav(7), Dewald Brevis(3), Daniel Sams(3), Unadkat(1). Hrithik Shokeen and Jasprit Bumrah were still standing as the innings ended, but they did not score any runs. The team total came to 132-8 in 20 overs with 14 extras as the innings concluded.

Krunal Pandya gained 3 wickets while Mohsin Khan, Jason Holder, Ravi Bishnoi and Ayush Badoni got a wicket each. In the end, Lucknow Super Giants won by 36 runs.
