Sunrisers Hyderabad had an easy win against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Hyderabad team had a firm grip on Bangalore. They were able to restrict runs to a great extent and get wickets. Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and opted to bowl first. It was a great strategy which worked out well. Marco Jasen of Hyderabad was awarded the Player of the Match for his efforts.
Faf du Plessis and Anuj Rawat opened for Bangalore. The highest individual score for the team came from Prabhudessai(15). Other players who helped in building the team total were Maxwell(12), W Hasaranga(8), Shahbaz Ahmed(7), Faf du Plessis(5), Harshal Patel(4), Hazlewood(3 not out), Siraj(2). Dinesh Karthik,Virat Kohli and Anuj Rawat did not score any runs. With 12 extras, the team total came to 68-10 in 16.1 overs. This was one of the lowest targets in IPL 2022.
Hyderabad bowlers were very persistent about getting wickets and limiting runs. They somewhat succeeded in their efforts as they got wickets with minimal run flow. Marco Jansen and T Natarajan got 3 wickets each while J Suchith took 2 wickets. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Umran Malik knocked out a wicket each.
Abhishek Sharma and Kane Williamson opened for Hyderabad. The highest individual score for the team came from Abhishek Sharma(47). Other players who joined the chase were Williamson(16 not out) and Tripathi(7 not out). With 2 extras, the team total came to 72-1 in 8 overs. The bowling squad of Hyderabad did such a fine job at cleaning out the Bangalore team that the batting lineup found it very easy to chase the target.
Harshal Patel took the only wicket that fell. The innings ended in a mere 8 overs. So the Bangalore bowlers did not get a chance to showcase their talents. As the game came to an end,Sunrisers Hyderabad won by 9 wickets.
