Chennai Super Kings got their first victory under Jadeja.CSK beat RCB in an exciting IPL match on Tuesday 12 April 2022. Shivam Dube was awarded the Player Of The Match. RCB won the toss and decided to bowl first. The decision failed to fulfill its purpose as Chennai Super Kings defended their target.
Ruturaj Gaikwad and Robin Uthappa opened for CSK. Shivam Dube(95 not out) was the top scorer for Chennai. Robin Uthappa(88) showcased another great performance that should not go unnoticed. The two batsmen built up quite a partnership that gave the RCB bowlers a hard time. Others who scored for the team were Ruturaj Gaikwad(17) and Moeen Ali(3).
The captain Ravindra Jadeja was not able to score any runs. Apart from him, MS Dhoni was also not able to score any runs, but he was still standing at the end of the innings. The team total came to 216-4 in 20 overs with 13 extras.
Bangalore bowlers were having a hard time breaking the partnership between Shivam Dube and Robin Uthappa. Hasaranga got 2 wickets while Hazlewood got a wicket. Another wicket was a runout which was the combined effort of Prabhudessai and Dinesh Karthik.
Royal Challengers Bangalore set out to chase the target. Faf du Plessis and Anuj Rawat opened for them. Shahbaz Ahmed(41) scored the most runs for the team. Others who added to the team total were Prabhudessai(34), Dinesh Karthik(34), Maxwell(26), Siraj(14 not out), Anuj Rawat(12), du Plessis(8), Hasaranga(7), Hazlewood(7 not out), Kohli(1). Akash Deep was unable to score any runs. In the end, the team total came to 193-9 in 20 overs.
Chennai bowlers did a great job of choking the batsmen. They plucked out wickets at times and limited runs. Maheesh Theekshana got 4 wickets while Ravindra Jadeja took 3 wickets. Mukesh Choudhary and Bravo plucked a wicket each. At last Chennai Super Kings won by 23 runs.
