Delhi Capitals Thrashed Kolkata Knight Riders in an amazing IPL match on 10 April 2022. Kolkata won the toss and opted to bowl first. Things didn’t work out as they hoped. Delhi Capitals set up a somewhat huge target that the Kolkata Knight Riders were unable to achieve. There were some nail biting moments in the game.
Delhi Capitals set out to bat first. Prithvi Shaw and David Warner open for them. They presented the spectators with pretty good batting. There were a lot of beautiful shots and great batting strategies. Warner(61) was the top scorer for the team. Others who helped in setting up the target were Prithvi Shaw(51), Thakur(29 not out), Rishabh Pant(27), Axar Patel(22 not out), Rovman Powell(8), Lalit Yadav(1). Along with 16 extras, Delhi Capitals set up a score of 215-5 in 20 overs.
Although the KKR bowlers managed to pluck out some wickets, they were unable to limit the runflow. Between the bowlers, Narine got 2 wickets while Umesh, Chakravarthy, and Russel got a wicket each. The bowlers tried their level best to restrict the Delhi team, but Delhi Capitals successfully built up a great target.
Kolkata Knight Riders set out to chase the target. Rahane and Venkatesh Iyer opened for Kolkata. Shreyas Iyer(54) scored the most runs for Kolkata Knight Riders. Other teammates who contributed to the chase are Nitish Rana(30), Russel(24), Venkatesh Iyer(18), Billings(15), Rahane(8), Rasikh Salam(7), Cummins(4), Narine(4), Chakravarthy)1 not out). Umesh Yadav was unable to score any runs. At last, Kolkata Knight Riders got up to 171-10 in 19.4 overs.
Delhi bowlers did a fantastic job at restricting runs and getting wickets. Kuldeep Yadav took 4 wickets while Khaleel Ahmed got 3 wickets. Shradul Thakur got 2 wickets and Lalit Yadav plucked out a wicket. In the end Delhi Capitals won by 44 runs.
