RPSG Group who is the owner of the new Lucknow franchise has officially confirmed that the team will be called the Lucknow Super Giants and it is also revealed that the official name of the team was decided by the public opinion from its fans and the name shared by owner Sanjiv Goenka in a video message.
Having said that, the mega auction of the upcoming IPL 2022 will be held on February 12 and 13 where the franchises will buy players for their upcoming season. Lucknow Super Giants brought KL Rahul to their camp, as the new Z franchises can pick 3 players to form their Core Team before the upcoming auction and KL Rahul will be the captain of the side as well.
