IPL 2020, MI vs CSK: Match Report

After the long wait, the biggest cricketing tournament started in UAE and the first match was between the defending Champions Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings (CSK). It was not only the game that was awaiting from the past couple of months but also a chance for the fans to see the superstars once again in action on the green field. The match of the tournament provided all the excitement as well as the thrill throughout the game and the luck was with CSK, as the team beat the defending Champions by 5 wickets.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni was the biggest highlighting element of the game, as he came out to the cricket ground after the announcement of his retirement from the international cricket, the Captain Cool registered the first win of the IPL 2020 tournament and showcased that he is the best strategy maker to guide his team to the victory.

CSK won the toss and elected to bowl first and we witness that the openers of the defending Champions Mumbai Indians started the game in a great way as the Skipper Rohit Sharma smashed a boundary and made everyone believe that the team is all set to make a big score but the strategy of captain cool Mahendra Singh Dhoni changed in the game quickly.

Mumbai Indians were in a commanding position but the bowling changes and the smart cricketing mind of MS Dhoni changed the game and restricted Mumbai Indians at 162 after 20 overs.

Having said that, CSK didn’t had a great start as they lost their two wickets in the early stage of the match but the sensible innings of two experienced guys – Ambati Rayudu and Faf du Plesis guided the team to the victory. Both batsmen scored gritty half-centuries as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated defending champions Mumbai Indians by five wickets after 5 consecutive losses.

It is worth to mention that the fielding was to bad for the Mumbai Indians as they mist sharp chances and gave unnecessary boundaries to the Chennai Super Kings and that cost very seriously as Mumbai Indians dropped catches of both the victory makers of CSK.

Furthermore, the department of the Mumbai Indians also disappointed as the bowlers couldn’t able to break the partnership and the key bowler Jasprit Bumrah was also very much expensive.
