West Indies head into the fourth day of the opening Test against Bangladesh in Dhaka with firm confidence, banking on a proactive batting approach to secure a crucial victory. Despite being bowled out for 245 in their first innings, a strong bowling display restricted the hosts to 79 for 6, giving the touring side the upper hand.
Bangladesh currently hold a slender lead of 106 runs with just four wickets remaining. West Indies batting coach Floyd Reifer praised the bowlers for swinging the momentum back in their favor on a pitch offering variable bounce and spin, noting that the team is fully prepared to chase down any modest target set on the final day.

The visiting bowlers applied consistent pressure late on the third day, exploiting the wearing surface in Dhaka. Captain Roston Chase starred with both bat and ball, chipping in with an unbeaten 43 before taking three quick wickets to dismantle the Bangladeshi top and middle order. Reifer emphasized that maintaining disciplined lengths and active fielding proved decisive in shifting the game’s balance.
