Delhi rewrote the record books by piling up a massive 262/6 against Hyderabad in a Senior Women’s T20 Trophy league-stage encounter in Pune. The phenomenal total established a brand new benchmark as the highest score ever recorded by any women’s team in domestic T20 cricket.

The previous domestic milestone belonged to Goa, who scored 257/2 against Arunachal Pradesh during the 2019-20 campaign. Delhi’s record-breaking innings at the MCA Ground 2 in Gahunje also marks the 11th-highest team total overall in women’s T20 history, with the ten scores above it coming strictly in international fixtures.

Masterclass From Tanisha Singh

Opener Tanisha Singh produced the defining performance of the match with an extraordinary knock of 119 runs from just 47 balls. Her aggressive onslaught featured 25 boundaries and a maximum. She reached her hundred off only 38 deliveries, equaling Deandra Dottin’s famous 2010 feat as the joint third-fastest century in women’s T20 cricket history.

  • Delhi recorded the highest-ever team total in domestic women’s T20 history with 262/6.
  • Tanisha Singh slammed 119 off 47 balls, reaching her hundred in 38 deliveries.
  • Priya Punia added a rapid 59 from 28 balls during a 160-run partnership.
  • Hyderabad managed 154/8 in reply, falling short by 108 runs.

Dominant Batting Display and Comfortable Victory

After losing an early wicket, Tanisha and India batter Priya Punia completely dismantled the Hyderabad bowling attack. The duo constructed a blistering 160-run stand in only 66 deliveries. Punia contributed a fluent 59 off 28 balls, while Shweta Sehrawat chipped in with a quickfire 26 from just eight deliveries to accelerate the scoring past the 200-run mark.

Despite Vanka Pooja returning respectable figures of 4/32 for Hyderabad, the rest of the bowling unit struggled immensely as every other bowler leaked at least 11 runs per over. In response, Hyderabad fought back through Trisha’s top-scoring 80 off 52 balls, but the target proved far too steep. Captain Pranavi Chandra was the only other batter to reach double digits as Hyderabad finished on 154/8, suffering a comprehensive 108-run defeat.
