India Bags 3 More Medals On Day 4

India bags 3 more medals on day 4 of the Commonwealth Games 2022. Indian athletes seem to be doing pretty well at Commonwealth Games 2022, particularly in the weightlifting events. 3 more medals were procured by Indians as day 4 ended. India now has 9 medals- 3 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze. These medals have landed India in the 6th position on the medal table. 

The medals procured on day 4 were by Harjinder Kaur who won the bronze medal in women’s 71 kg weightlifting. Harjinder lifted a total of 212 Kg splitting it between 93 Kg in Snatch and 119 Kg in Clean and Jerk. Others who won medals were judokas Shushila Devi Likmabam and Vijay Kumar Yadav. Shushila won a silver medal while Vijay secured a bronze medal respectively. 

Further news about the Commonwealth games include the fact that India defeated Nigeria to qualify for the finals of the Table Tennis event. They will now face Singapore in the gold medal match. Badminton mixed team semi finals saw Indians defeating Singapore. They now have to face Malaysia in the gold medal match. 

India have drawn with England in a Men’s Pool B hockey match. Indian lawn bowls team created history as they defeated New Zealand in the women’s fours semi final assuring at least a Silver medal. The performances of other athletes who lost a medal just by mere inches are not to be forgotten. Their contributions are valued deeply.  

Overall, India did a great job this year. New unexpected heroes arose at crucial moments to put India 6th on the medal table. So far it has been a great year at the Commonwealth Games 2022.
