With 7 extras, Chennai Super Kings raked up a score of 133-5 in 20 overs.
Gujarat bowlers did a pretty good job at limiting runs and getting wickets. They did not allow the Chennai batsmen to put together a great target. Mohammed Shami got 2 wickets while Rashid Khan, Alzarri Joseph and Sai Kishore gained a wicket each. The skillful bowling prevented Chennai Super Kings from executing their strategy.
Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill opened for Gujarat Titans. It was Saha(67 not out) who scored the most individually. Others who joined the chase were Matthew Wade(20), Shubman Gill(18), David Miller(15 not out), Hardik Pandya(7). Gujarat batsmen reached 137-3 in 19.1 overs with the help of 10 extras.
Chennai bowlers were not so successful in limiting runs and getting wickets to defend their score. It was very disappointing for Chennai fans to see their team losing yet again. Of the three wickets that fell, Matheesha Pathirana got 2 wickets and Moeen Ali got the remaining 1 wicket. Gujarat Titans won the match without much effort as the batsmen chased down the target within 19.1 overs.
