Everything about The Hundred
The Hundred is actually a professional franchise of the 100-ball cricket tournament and the same will feature eight men’s and women’s teams which are located in major cities across England and Wales. It is invented and designed by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), the tournament will be played on July 21, and the tournament delayed a year due to the COVID-19.
In The Hundred tournament, each match lasts around two-and-a-half hours and the tournament will give equal weight to both men’s and women’s sides. The organizers sets back-to-back double-headers at the same venue on the same day.
Meeting about the rules and regulations of the tournament, 100 balls per innings, and there will be a change of ends after 10 balls. Bowlers will be allowed to deliver either five or 10 consecutive balls, and each bowler can deliver a maximum of 20 balls in the game.
The bowling side will get a strategic time-out of up to two and a half minutes and the tournament will have a 25-ball powerplay start and only two fielders are allowed outside the 30-yard circle during the powerplay. The Hundred tournament will enable teams will be able to call time-outs.
Regarding the tournament structure, eight city-based teams will be featured in the tournament and the same will be played a month between 21 July and 21 August 2021 There will be 32 matches in the league and each team will play four matches at home and four matches away,
Talking about the teams of the tournament, Birmingham Phoenix, London Spirit, Manchester Originals, Northern Superchargers, Oval Invincibles, Southern Brave, Trent Rockets, Welsh Fire, these 8 teams will face each other.
