Royal Challengers Banglore slayed Lucknow Super Giants in an exciting IPL match on 19 April 2022. It was a splendid game. Banglore captain Faf du Plessis was awarded the Player of the Match. Lucknow Super Giants won the toss and decided to bowl first. It proved to be a bad decision.
Anuj Rawat and Faf du Plessis opened for Royal Challengers Banglore. The highest individual score for the team came from Faf du Plessis(96) who missed his century by a mere 4 runs. It was a shame. Others who helped build the team total were Shahbaz Ahmed(26), Maxwell(23), Karthik(13 not out), Prabhudessai(10), Anuj Rawat(4). Virat Kohli and Harshal Patel(not out) did not get any runs. As the innings ended, the team total came to 181-6 in 20 overs with 9 extras. It was a pretty good score to put up for a target.
Lucknow bowlers were very persistent. They tried to get wickets and limit runs. Anyhow, du Plessis was in great form. He almost got his century, but was cut off. Chameera and Holder got 2 wickets each, while Krunal Pandya took a wicket.
Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul opened for Lucknow Super Giants. The top individual score for the team came from Krunal Pandya(42). Others who joined the chase were KL Rahul(30), Stoinis(24), Holder(16), Deepak Hooda(13), Ayush Badoni(13), Manish Pandey(6), de Kock(3), Chameera(1 not out). Ravi Bishnoi(not out) was unable to score any runs. When the innings ended, the Lucknow team had a total of 163-8 in 20 overs with 15 extras.
Banglore bowlers were successful in getting wickets and limiting runs. Josh Hazlewood took 4 wickets while Harshal Patel got 2 wickets. Glenn Maxwell and Mohammed Siraj picked a wicket each. In the end, Royal Challengers Banglore won by 18 runs.
