India Registers Massive Victory In First T20

After dominating over West Indies in T20 and ODI formats, team India faced Sri Lanka in Lucknow and registered a massive victory over the visitors. Team India showcased an amazing performance with the bat and ball and the same resulted in 62 runs victory over Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to field first in the first match of the T20 Series and the same gave a big blow to them as the opening pair of team India showcased an amazing performance, as the captain Rohit Sharma smashed 44 runs while his partner Ishan Kishan smashed 89 runs from just 56 deliveries and that made a strong foundation for the team India.

After that, it was the turn of Shreyas Iyer as he also presented an amazing firework in the ground by scoring 57 runs from just 28 balls and remained unbeaten. India scored 199 runs on the board after 20 overs.

Sri Lanka started with a shock, as Pathum Nissanka was clean bowled on the very first ball which he faced and Bhuvneshwar Kumar removed him. While his partner Kamil Mishara was also dismissed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar for just 13 runs.

Janith Liyanage added 11 runs in his account and he was removed by V. Iyer but Charith Asalanka presented a decent knock by scoring 53 runs and remained unbeaten.

Dinesh Chandimal was dismissed by Ravindra Jadeja who made a return to the side and the captain of Sri Lanka Dasun Shanaka went back to the pavilion after scoring just three runs. Chamika Karunaratne and Dushmantha Chameera added 21 and 24 runs respectively. The visitors ended their innings at 137 after losing 6 wickets.
