The first half of the game was very interesting. Both teams were head to head. Although both teams tried to break the deadlock, no one was successful when the first half ended.
It was an aggressive first half. Jamshedpur FC in particular played a more attacking game. Peter Hartley of Jamshedpur FC was booked with a yellow card in 24 minutes for a bad foul. There were a number of other fouls and free kicks for both sides, but only Hartley was booked. Both teams took shots to the post as well. But all attempts failed in the first half for both teams.
The second half saw a completely different strategy from Jamshedpur. Nerijus Valskis of Jamshedpur broke the deadlock in 50 minutes. He scored the first goal with Greg Stewart’s assist.
Jamshedpur still kept up the attacking game. Goa responded accordingly. This resulted in a series of fouls and freekicks. Sanson Pereira of Goa is booked with a yellow card in 59 minutes for a bad foul. Narender Gahlot of Jamshedpur is booked for a yellow card in 87 minutes as well. Apart from these fouls, no others were booked with cards. All the remaining fouls resulted in free kicks.
Nerijus Valskis of Jamshedpur scored his second goal in 60 minutes. Once again Greg Stewart assisted him.
A series of missed attempts, blocked attempts and fouls followed. Jordan Murray scored another goal for Jamshedpur in 79 minutes. Jamshedpur had a 3 goal lead over Goa until Goa returned a goal in 85 minutes. Airam Cabrera scored with Jorge Ortiz’s assist.
