England emerged victorious against Bangladesh in the T20 World Cup match on 27 October 2021. Jason Roy was awarded player of the match for his efforts.
Roy(61) was the top scorer for England. Others who contributed in England’s run chase were Jos Buttler(18), Malan(28 not out) and Baristow(8 not out). Roy was in great form, getting 61 out of 38 balls including 5 fours and 3 sixes.
Although England lost the toss, Bangladesh’s decision to bat first worked out in England’s favour. Bangladesh was restricted to just 124-9 in 20 overs. England chased the score in just 14.1 overs, getting 126-2.
England is now at the top of the table with 4 points from winning 2 of the 2 matches they played. Bangladesh ended up 5th after losing both matches played and without any points. It seemed like an easy win for England, thanks to Jason Roy being in form. The England bowlers are also to be thanked for restricting runs and getting wickets.
Bangladesh lost wickets constantly. Mushfiqur Rahim(29) was the highest individual score attained by Bangladesh. The others who contributed towards the final score of Bangladesh were Linton Das(9), Naim(5), Shakib(4), Mahmudullah(19), Afif Hossain (5), Nurul Hasan(16), Mahedi Hasan(11), Nasum Ahmed(19 not out) along with some extras. Mustafizur did not manage to get any runs.
The England bowlers did a great job getting wickets. Moeen(2), Woakes(1), Tymal Mills(3), Livingstone(2). The Bangladesh bowlers were not so fortunate. Nasum Ahmed was able to catch Jason Roy, which was a huge wicket for Bangladesh. However, it was not able to lead Bangladesh to victory. Another wicket for Bangladesh was when Naim caught Jos Buttler.
England was able to wrap up the match pretty fast, when they reached the total in just 14.1 overs. England emerged victorious against Bangladesh, winning by 8 wickets.
