BCCI started a new chapter in the Indian Premier League as the official increased the number of teams for the next edition of the tournament. As it was reported earlier, BCCI has added Lucknow and Ahmedabad as the two new franchises for the IPL 2022. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced that CVC Captial Partners, a private equity and investment advisory firm, won the bid for the Ahmedabad team, while the RPSG Group, an Indian conglomerate, won the bid for the Lucknow franchise.
Having said that, RPSG Group’s winning bid was of ₹7090 crore while CVC Capital was ₹5625 crore, the BCCI has also revealed the details about the tournament schedule.
It is confirmed that there will be 74 matches and each team will play 14 games in the tournament and that includes 7 home games and 7 away matches.
