India’s ‘Billion Cheers Jersey’ For T20 World Cup

India unveils the ‘Billion Cheers Jersey’, the fan inspired jersey for the upcoming T20 World Cup. The jersey was unveiled on Wednesday 13 October 2021. The unveiling happened just days before India opens the campaign with a much awaited clash with the main rivals Pakistan in Dubai.

The T20 World Cup is to be held from October 17th to November 14th 2021 in Oman and the UAE. 

The official kit sponsors for the Indian Mens, Womens and Under 19 teams, MPL Sports unveiled the jersey, called the ‘Billion Cheers Jersey’.

Apparently, the jersey carries “the chants and cheers from iconic past matches transformed into unique soundwave patterns”, as was quoted by MPL Sports. The jersey is in shades of prussian blue and royal blue.

The BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and board secretary Jay Shah are of the view that the jersey is the best way to show the appreciation for the fan support that Team India seem to enjoy not only in their home grounds, but also around the world. They also believe that the team may find the jersey a token of motivation and as a fuel to win the championship.

The jersey is to be sold at ₹1799, as well as upto 10 variations of the same including the player edition jersey and the skipper Virat Kohli’s signature number 18 jersey were launched.
