The match resumes as Overton and Robinson continue batting. The attack is continued by Shami. The wicket fell for England in Shami’s next over when the match reached 131.5 overs . Craig Overton goes for lbw with 32 runs from 42 balls including 6 fours.
James Anderson takes his place. The match continues and Bumrah gets Robinson in the next over at 132.2 overs. Robinson is out without any runs and this puts an end to England’s first innings with 432 in 132.2 overs.
India begins their second innings. Rahul and Rohit at the crease. Anderson opens the attack from England. The two openers are able to build up a partnership and get India to 34 runs in 18.6 overs when the first wicket falls. Baristow catches Rahul in Overton’s ball. Rahul departs with 8 runs from 54 balls.
Pujara comes up next. Rohit is able to build up a great partnership with Pujara.
The match reached 37.4 overs when Rohit completed 50 runs, India at 89-1.
The match progresses further to 47.4 overs when Robinson gets Rohit via lbw.
Although India goes for a review, it is given out. Rohit is frustrated and smashes his bat on the ground as he walks away. Rohit departs with 59 runs from 156 balls including 7 fours and 1 six.
The skipper Kohli pads up and arrives to take Rohit’s place. The match reaches 50.2 overs when Pujara completes 50 leaving India with 122-2.
Kohli and Pujara continued batting for the rest of the day, building a partnership of 92 runs Pujara at 91 not out and Kohli at 45 not out. At the end of the day India is at 215-2 from 80 overs.
There seems to be hope for India at this rate, but Indian batsmen have to look out for England’s bowlers as well. For now India trail by 139 runs as day 3 stumps. Two more days remain in the match.
