Sri Lanka vs India 2nd T20I: Sri Lanka Keep Series Alive

After winning the first T20 match on Sunday, team India came out with many challenges in the second T20 match of the 3 match series against Sri Lanka. Krunal Pandya was tested positive for coronavirus and 9 players were unavailable for the match due to the direct contact with the affected player. India had to play the game with only five batsmen and the team was not able to score big runs on the board.

Team India came out to bat first in the game and they only scored 132 runs on the board. Shikhar Dhawan scored 40 runs while Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devdutt Padikkal added 21 and 29 runs respectively. India ended the innings at 132 runs on the board.

India was not able to defend the modest total as Sri Lanka registered 4 wickets victory over India and kept the series alive. As mentioned above, the team India played without 9 players and the team had no option but to play with 6 bowlers in the match including Navdeep Saini, who wasn’t even given a single over. Dhananjaya de Silva helped Sri Lanka to reach the target as he scored 40 runs.

It is worth mentioning that Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1/21 in 4 overs) was economical but he gave full toes at the crucial time of the game and Chamika Karunartne smashed a six and the same changed the momentum and made things easier for the host.
