Dominic Thiem made a sensational performance in the men’s final of the US Open and the Austrian tennis star clinched his first ever Grand slam title. The winner of the tournament came back from behind and beat his opponent in the thrilling final.
The second seeded Austrian beat Alexander Zverev who is the fifth seed 2-6, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 7-6 (8/6) and the champion took 4hr 2min to complete the mission inside the empty Arthur Ashe Stadium. Moreover, Dominic Thiem made a historical performance in the final, as he came back into the game after losing the first 2 sets and this is happening for the first time in the history of the US Open and the match was also presented the first time the final had been settled by a tie-break.
It is worth to mention that Dominic Thiem won the first Grand Slam title after losing the finals of three major Tennis Tournament. Well, that means we can realise how special is the title for him and the sweetness of this particular win.
Having said that, he is also the first new Grand Slam champion since Croatian Marin Cilic won at Flushing Meadows in 2014.
