Tanush Kotian produced a mesmerizing spell of spin bowling to claim career-best figures of 8/81, steering Mumbai to a commanding 10-wicket victory over Haryana in their Elite Group D Ranji Trophy encounter on Thursday. The resounding win earned Mumbai seven valuable points, marking their third consecutive bonus-point triumph of the ongoing domestic red-ball campaign after earlier victories against Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh.
Haryana, resuming their overnight score on 73/2 in their follow-on innings and still facing a deficit, were eventually bundled out for 256 in the second session on a slow and testing surface. Despite facing an uphill task, Haryana put up some resistance through their lower order before Kotian dismantled the resistance. Chasing a meager target of 97 runs for victory, Mumbai’s opening batters made short work of the chase, wrapping up the match inside eleven overs to maintain their stellar form in the prestigious domestic tournament.
