Dilshan Madushanka delivered a sensational bowling performance, claiming career-best figures of 5 for 34 to skittle Pakistan out for a paltry 110 in the ongoing ODI tri-series match at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Monday. After winning the toss and electing to field first, Sri Lanka’s bowling attack dominated the proceedings from the outset, leaving the hosts in disarray on their home turf during this crucial encounter.
Match Situation and Collapse
Babar Azam attempted to anchor the innings, top-scoring for Pakistan with 29 runs from 33 deliveries, but a lack of support from the other end triggered a dramatic batting collapse. Only three other batters managed to reach double digits as the home side crumbled to their second-lowest ODI total on home soil. Madushanka dismantled the top and lower orders with disciplined pace and clever use of the short ball, supported efficiently by Sahan Arachchige, who chipped in with two crucial wickets. Wickets also fell regularly to Asitha Fernando, Eshan Malinga, and Dunith Wellalage as the pressure mounted continuously.
