It was believed that the chase masters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli would be guiding the side easily to the target but things were entirely different.
India lost Rohit Sharma for just 11 while the captain of the side Shubman Gill contributed 23. Having said that, Virat Kohli showcased his character by smashing 124 from just 108 but he didn’t get enough support to guide the side to the victory.
Shreyas Iyer was able to score only 3 to the total and KL Rahul disappointed as he went back to the pavilion after scoring just 1. Nitish Kumar Reddy contributed 53 and Ravindra Jadeja added 12 to the total.
Harshit Rana added 52 and Mohammed Siraj was not able to open the account while Kuldeep Yadav added 5 to the total. Arshdeep Singh was not out after scoring 4 and that was not enough for the team India. The team lost to New Zealand and all out in 46 overs after scoring 296.
