Punjab Kings won the toss and elected to bat first, Priyansh Arya contributed 22 while Prabhsimran Singh added 30 to the total. After that, it was a batting collapse for Punjab Kings as the captain Shreyas Iyer was not able to open the account while Josh Inglis went back to the pavilion after scoring 2 and Nehal Wadhera contributed 10.

Glenn Maxwell disappointed once again as he was dismissed for just 7, Suryansh Shedge contributed 4 and Shashank Singh contributed 18. Marco Jansen added 1 while Xavier Bartlett contributed 11 and Arshdeep Singh added 1. Punjab Kings were all out for 111 in 15.3 overs.

It was believed that KKR would achieve the target easily, but the story was different. Kolkata Knight Riders started to lose wickets in quick sessions, the opening pair of the team went back to the pavilion cheaply. Quinton de Kock contributed 2 while his partner Sunil Narine added 5. The captain Ajinkya Rahane contributed 17 while Angkrish Raghuvanshi contributed 37.

Venkatesh Iyer added 7 while Rinku Singh went back after adding 2 to the total. Andre Russell contributed 17 while Ramandeep Singh was not able to open his account and Harshit Rana added 3.

Vaibhav Arora and Anrich Nortje were not able to open their account, KKR were all out for just 95 in 15.1 overs. Punjab Kings won the low scoring game.
