The cricket fans and lovers are waiting for the upcoming Asia Cup tournament and the match between India versus Pakistan. The tournament is set for August 27 and the same will be played in UAE. Now before the upcoming tournament, BCCI has officially announced the India squad for the upcoming Asia Cup. It is worth mentioning that the sensational fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the tournament due to an injury.
Rohit Sharma will be the captain of the squad and KL Rahul as well as Virat Kohli makes a comeback to the team. KL Rahul returned after recovering from injury and coronavirus while Virat Kohli has joined the India squad after a rest.
BCCI has also included two wicket keepers in the squad – Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik. The 15 members squad is also having three specialist spinners as well which include, Ravichandran Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravi Bishnoi. Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja are the two all-rounders in the team.
Deepak Hooda as well as Suryakumar Yadav are included in the squad and in the absence of Jasprit Bumrha, Bhuvneshwar Kumar will be in the leading role of the bowling attacking along with youngsters Avesh Khan and Arshdeep Singh.
Speaking about the tournament, there are 6 teams and they are divided into two groups with India, Pakistan and a qualifying team in Group A and Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan forming Group B. Each team plays the other once in the group stage.
