Rajasthan Royals embraced victory in the IPL match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Tuesday 26 April 2022. It was a great match which saw both teams putting in their best efforts. Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and opted to bowl first. Their strategy did not play out as hoped. The Rajasthan team managed to limit Bangalore’s advances to win the game. Riyan Parag of Rajasthan was awarded the Player of the Match for his efforts all round the game.
Jos Buttler and Devdutt Padikkal opened for Rajasthan. The highest individual score for the team came from Riyan Parag(56 not out). Others who helped in building the team total were Sanju Samson(27), Ravichandran Ashwin(17), Daryl Mitchell(16), Jos Buttler(8), Padikkal(7), Boult(5), Hetmyer(3), Prasidh(2). Chahal was still standing as the innings ended, but he did not score any runs. With 3 extras, Rajasthan Royals built up the score of 144-8 in 20 overs.
Bangalore bowlers did a pretty good job at limiting runs and getting wickets. Siraj, Hazlewood, and W Hasaranga got 2 wickets each while Harshal Patel gained a wicket. They tried their level best to get a grip of the Rajasthan batters. The Bangalore bowlers were careful enough to keep the extras to a minimum of 3.
Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis opened for Bangalore. The highest individual score for the team came from du Plessis(23). Others who joined the chase were W Hasaranga(18), Shahbaz Ahmed(17), Rajat Patidar(16), Virat Kohli(9), Harshal Patel(8), Dinesh Karthik(6), Siraj(5), Prabhudessai(2). Although Hazlewood and Maxwell did not score any runs, Hazlewood was still standing when the innings ended. With 11 extras, Bangalore reached 115-10 in 19.3 overs.
The fielding and bowling of the Rajasthan team were commendable. Riyan Parag was responsible for four of the major catches in the game. Kuldeep Sen got 4 wickets while Ravichandran Ashwin took 3 wickets. Prasidh Krishna gained 2 wickets. As the game ended, Rajasthan Royals won by 29 runs.
