Deepak Chahar became the most expensive Indian pace bowler to be ever bought at an IPL auction when Chennai Super Kings secured him for 14 Cr. Kolkata Knight Riders spent the most amount on Shreyas Iyer, buying the stylish right-handed batsman for ₹12.25 Cr. Liam Livingstone, Wanindu Hasaranga, Nicholas Pooran, Shradul Thakur, and Lockie Ferguson got great bids at the auction. The new IPL entrant Lucknow SuperGiants bid ₹10 Cr for Avesh Khan, making him the most expensive uncapped player in the history of IPL. All the 10 franchises were very enthusiastic for two days at the mega auction. This sets way for a fantastic Tata IPL 2022. Among the204 players sold for ₹5,51,70,000, 67 were overseas players.
Chennai Super Kings have ₹2.95 Cr remaining in their bank while Delhi Capitals have ₹10,00,000 to spare. Gujarat Titans got ₹15,00,000 and Kolkata Knight Riders have ₹45,00,000. Lucknow SuperGiants have exhausted their account leaving no spare money. Mumbai Indians got ₹10,00,000 in reserve. Punjab Kings have ₹3,45,00,000 left in their account. Rajasthan Royals got ₹95,00,000 while Royal Challengers Bangalore have ₹1,55,00,000 and Sunrisers Hyderabad have ₹10,00,000 remaining.
The teams spent most of their money on certain players.
