Tamil Nadu Registered Victory Over Kerala

Tamil Nadu registered victory over Kerala in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match. Tamil Nadu now in 2nd position in Group A while Kerala at 3rd position in Group D. This was the Quarter Final 1 match. 

Tamil Nadu bowled first after getting the toss. Although Kerala set up a score of 181-4 from 20 overs, they were unable to defend it. Tamil Nadu chased and got to 187-5 in 19.3 overs. 

Kerala batting range presented a decent game. Between Rohan Kunnummal(51), Azharuddeen(15), Sachin Baby(33), Vishnu Vinod(65) and Sajeevan Akhil(9), Kerala mustered up 181-4 from 20 overs. 

The problem arose when Tamil Nadu started batting. Kerala bowlers were unable to defend the score. Although Kerala managed to pluck out 5 wickets, they failed to defend the score their batsmen put up. Tamil Nadu batsmen found gaps between the Kerala fielders and managed to achieve the required target.

Tamil Nadu batsmen chased the score beautifully. They were able to reach 187-5 in just 19.3 overs. Hari Nishanth(32), Sai Sudharsan(46), Vijay Shankar(33), Sanjay Yadav(32), Shahrukh Khan(19), N.Jagadeeshan and M.Mohammed chased the 182 target and managed to get 187. 

Both bowling squads did a pretty good job as well. The Tamil Nadu bowling squad was a bit better. They were able to limit Kerala to 181. Kerala however,failed to put an anchor on Tamil Nadu batsmen.

Both teams presented a fair game. Although Tamil Nadu managed to win, Kerala fought to the end. 

It was a bad day for the Kerala captain Sanju Samson. He was unable to score any runs. Moreover, the match was lost. Although both teams had equal chances of winning, Tamil Nadu won. Sanju Samson’s wicket provided Tamil Nadu a great advantage. Tamil Nadu registered victory over Kerala.
