INDIANS IN TOKYO OLYMPICS 2020-2021

 India has done a great job in the Tokyo Olympics 2020-2021 by securing 7 medals in total – 1 gold, 2 silver, and 4 bronze medals. Congratulations to all the winners. It is a proud moment for India.

Neeraj Chopra 🥇

Neeraj Chopra secured the one and only gold medal in mens javelin throw by a distance of 87.58m, in the 5th attempt. He beat Jakub Vadlejch of Czech Republic who had a distance of 86.67m and Vitezslav Vesely of Czech Republic who hada distance of 85.44m.

India secured 2 silver medals. One in wrestling 57kg men’s category and the other in weightlifting 49 kg women’s category.

Ravi Kumar Dahiya🥈

Ravi Kumar Dahiya secured the silver medal in wrestling 57 kg men category by beating  Nurislam Sanayev of Kazakhstan, who shared the bronze medal with Thomas Gilman of United States. Ravi was beaten by Zavur Uguev in the final match.

Mirabhai Chanu 🥈

The second silver medal came from Mirabhai Chanu for weightlifting 49 kg women category. She beat Windy Cantika Aisah of Indonesia, who got the bronze medal to secure the silver medal. She was beaten by Hou Zhihui in the final match.

India secured 4 bronze medals. These were achieved in woman’ssingles badminton, woman’s welterweight boxing, men’s hockey and wrestling 65 kg men’s category.

P.V. Sindhu 🥉

P.V. Sindhu secured the bronze medal in woman’s singles badminton. She beat He Bingjiao of China to secure the medal. She was beaten by Tai Tzu-ying of Chinese Taipei in the semi-finals.

Lovlina Borgohain 🥉

Lovlina Borgohain secured the bronze medal for woman’s welterweight boxing by beatingChen Nien-Chin of Chinese Taipei. She was beaten by Gu Hong of China in the semi -final match.

Indian Hockey Team 🥉

The Indian hockey team secured a bronze medal by beating Germany in the quarter final match with a score of 5-4 in full time. They were beaten by Australia with a score 5-2 in favour of Australia.

 Bajarang Punia🥉

Bajarang Punia secured the bronze medal in wrestling 65 kg men’s category along with Gadzhimurad Rashidov of ROC who also got a bronze medal. He beat Daulet Niyazbekov of Kazakhstan to secure the medal. He was beaten by Haji Aliyev of Azerbaijan in the semi-final match.

Congratulations to all the winners. You have done all of India and Indians proud.
