It is officially revealed that the winning side of the upcoming World Test Championship will be awarded the prize money of USD 1.6 million along with the Test Championship Mace. That said, the team India will take on New Zealand for the prestigious title at Southampton on June 18.
The losing team of the match will get USD 800,000 for finishing second place in the nine-team competition, and the tournament is now at the finishing stage in a near two-year cycle.
It is also confirmed that the team finishing at the third position will get USD 450,000 cheque, while the prize money for the fourth-placed team will be USD 350,000. The fifth team will get USD 200,000 while the remaining four teams will get USD 100,000 each.
