Turkey Grand Prix Confirmed, As F1 2020 Calendar Finalised

Turkey Grand Prix will be held on Turkey’s Istanbul Park on November 15, followed by back to back events in Bahrain.

Last event on this circuit was held on 2011, which is famous for its epic turn 8 actions and was won by Sebastian Vettel For Red Bull Team.

Along with this F1 also confirms that the initially postponed Chinese Grand Prix will not happen this year.

But there’s still no news about the postponed Vietnam Race, which was to be held on April 19.

The F1 2020 Calendar will end at Abu Dhabi on December 13, almost a month later than the usual end date of mid-November.

That makes it a 17-race calendar for the season of the initial 23 race which was scheduled for F1 2020 calendar before the pandemic snuck in.

A statement from Formula 1 boss says: “We can confirm that Turkey, Bahrain (hosting two races), and Abu Dhabi will be part of the revised season and want to express our thanks to the hard work of all our promoters and partners in making this 17-race season possible.

“Sadly, we will not be racing in China this season and want to thank our partner Juss Sports for their support and engagement in recent months and hugely look forward to returning to Shanghai next year.”

There’s not much details available for the Bahrain event on which layout the second Bahrain GP will be held or will there be any changes to the compound of tyres available as of now.

All the confirmed races will be a three day event, exempting the one in Imola, Italy which will be completed in the two days.

So that brings an end to all the speculation for the season as well as five venues which were initially not on the original F1 2020 calendar.

Following is the upcoming schedule of F1 2020 Calendar:

Date Venue
August 30 Spa, Belgium
September 6 Monza, Italy
September 13 Mugello, Italy
September 27 Sochi, Russia
October 11 Nurburgring, Germany
October 25 Portimao, Portugal
November 1 Imola, Italy
November 15 Istanbul Park, Turkey
November 29 Sakhir, Bahrain
December 6 Sakhir, Bahrain
December 13 Yas Marina, Abu Dhabi
