Wales Faces Uphill Battle To Protect Elite Young Female Footballers From Poaching

Ayush Badoni has secured a late call-up to the India A squad for the upcoming Rising Stars Asia Cup after Rajat Patidar withdrew from the tournament. Officials confirmed that Patidar formally requested to be excused from the 50-over competition to manage his ongoing physical niggles. Consequently, selectors turned to the in-form Delhi batsman to bolster the middle-order batting lineup.

  • Ayush Badoni enters the squad following prolific domestic form in red-ball cricket.
  • Rajat Patidar stepped down to properly rehabilitate his recurring injury concerns.
  • Rinku Singh will serve as vice-captain under the leadership of Tilak Varma.
  • The continental tournament will take place in Doha from November 19 to November 29.

Ayush Badoni Earns Call After Stellar Domestic Run

Ayush Badoni brings exceptional momentum into the squad after piling up massive runs in the current Ranji Trophy season. Meanwhile, the talented right-hander recently registered consecutive double-centuries while representing Delhi. Because of these dominant displays, Ayush Badoni currently stands as the second-highest run-getter in the tournament with 559 runs from six innings.

Selectors also confirmed leadership changes following the latest squad adjustments. Rinku Singh will take over vice-captaincy duties to assist skipper Tilak Varma during the campaign. However, several other white-ball specialists like Abhishek Sharma and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi will also travel for the tournament.

Tournament Schedule and Group Context

India A finds itself slotted into Group B alongside Pakistan A, UAE, and Nepal. Therefore, fans can anticipate an intense high-profile clash against Pakistan A on November 22. Group A features strong contenders including Bangladesh A, Sri Lanka A, Afghanistan A, and Hong Kong, China.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout semi-finals scheduled for November 26 and 27. Ultimately, the tournament will conclude with the grand final on November 29 in Doha. Team management hopes the assembled youthful core delivers strong performances.
