Star fast bowler Haris Rauf has officially signed with the Adelaide Strikers for the upcoming Big Bash League season, which gets underway on December 12. The Pakistan paceman joins a formidable squad featuring marquee international signings like Ben Stokes and Mark Chapman, bolstering the Strikers’ bowling attack significantly ahead of the new campaign.
Strikers head coach Tim Paine expressed great enthusiasm over securing the services of the premier fast bowler for the entire tournament. Familiar Territory at Adelaide Oval
Rauf is no stranger to the Adelaide Oval surface, having delivered memorable performances at the iconic venue in international cricket. During a One-Day International in November 2024, the fiery right-arm quick dismantled Australia with figures of 5 for 29, steering Pakistan to a commanding nine-wicket victory. He also holds fond memories of playing in front of Adelaide crowds during past global showpieces.
Reflecting on his new home, Rauf noted his excitement about running in at one of the world’s premier cricket grounds and partnering with a well-balanced squad. The Adelaide Strikers, who captured their sole BBL title back in the 2017-18 season and missed out on the playoffs last year, will be banking on Rauf’s searing pace to guide them deep into the tournament finals.
