Adam Hose Commits Long-Term Future to Worcestershire With New Deal

Worcestershire batter Adam Hose has committed his long-term future to the county by signing a new three-year contract extension that will keep him at New Road until the conclusion of the 2029 season. The experienced 34-year-old, who initially crossed over from cross-midlands rivals Warwickshire ahead of the 2023 domestic campaign, has established himself as a central figure in both the red-ball and white-ball setups. His previous deal, signed in late 2024, was originally scheduled to expire at the end of the upcoming summer. Following strong leadership qualities shown on the field, Hose was also appointed as the captain of the T20 side midway through the recent campaign.

  • Contract Length: Secured a three-year extension running until the end of the 2029 English county season.
  • Recent Output: Scored 638 runs with one century and five fifties during the 2026 campaign after returning from injury.
  • Career Milestone: Registered a career-best score of 266 against Hampshire during the 2025 season.
  • Leadership Role: Took over the captaincy of the Worcestershire T20 team midway through this year’s tournament.

Overcoming Injury Setbacks to Lead the Pears

The contract announcement follows a challenging period of rehabilitation for the right-handed batsman, who spent six grueling months on the sidelines recovering from a severe ankle injury sustained while playing in The Hundred in August 2025. Despite those physical hurdles, Hose returned to action to accumulate more than 2,400 runs across 46 first-class appearances for the county. Head coach Alan Richardson praised the player’s remarkable resilience and character in bouncing back from serious fitness concerns, describing him as a genuine asset and one of the most dependable figures within the dressing room.

Ambitions for Promotion and White-Ball Success

Looking ahead to the upcoming domestic schedule, Hose expressed total confidence in the squad’s capability to bounce back after Worcestershire finished fifth in County Championship Division Two in 2026. The senior batter emphasized that the team must immediately target promotion back to Division One while also mounting a serious challenge across all three domestic trophies in white-ball formats, noting that the group narrowly missed out on a T20 quarter-final spot this year. Hose is the second senior player to commit his future to the club this month, following wicketkeeper-batter Gareth Roderick, who recently extended his stay until the end of the 2028 season.
